The Chair in Transgender Studies is proud to march in the 2025 ! We invite all Trans+ people and allies to march with us in the parade. Exact time and meeting place TBA.

VICTORIA PRIDE FESTIVAL

Following the parade, come visit our booth at the in MacDonald Park. Put your hands on history! Original historical material from the world's largest Transgender Archives will be available for you to pick up and look at.

A BUTTON-SIZED PIECE OF HISTORY

Committee members Kai and Hope collaborated on a unique button to celebrate 樱花影视 Pride 2025. Come by our table and pick up your button-sized piece of history, while supplies last!

Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual internationally recognized day on March 31st and is dedicated to celebrating Trans+ people worldwide. Because March 31st this year is Easter Sunday, we are celebrating on the evening of Thursday, March 28th!

ALL WELCOME!


Join us for an in-person reception and social at UVic's new conference centre Sŋéqə ʔéʔləŋ (Sngequ House). If you identify as Trans+, your attendance will contribute to Trans+ visibility. If you count yourself as an ally, your attendance will show your support for Trans+ inclusion. Please invite your Trans+ friends and/or family members!

The Breakwater Quartet

The Breakwater Quartet has established a significant presence in the 樱花影视 music scene since its inception in 2019, delivering performances across various venues encompassing both classical and contemporary musical genres. Distinguishing themselves through an extensive repertoire comprised predominantly of bespoke arrangements, the quartet's commitment to musical excellence is underscored by their collective background in classical music under the tutelage of the Lafayette String Quartet at the 樱花影视. Beyond their classical roots, each member exhibits a profound appreciation for diverse musical genres, rendering the Breakwater Quartet a remarkably versatile ensemble. Their musical range spans from iconic works by The Beatles and David Bowie to contemporary hits by Beyoncé and Coolio.

Transgender Day of Remembrance

TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honours the memory of Trans+ people whose lives have been lost in acts of transphobic violence in the past year.

Join us at for a candlelight vigil and name-reading ceremony.

🕯️ Bring candles if you have them 🕯️

VISIT @ Tre Fantastico (810 Humboldt St.)
5:45 PM - 6:45 PM

Informal visit at the nearby  coffee shop after the vigil.

We encourage you to take public transit.

If you need some support during your time at the vigil, you can connect with

Shay Manerikar, MSW RSW (they/them)


Shay is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work. They are a biracial and non-binary settler on these lands, descended from Indian immigrants and white settlers. Shay is committed to an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approach to therapy that is grounded in compassion, authentic connection, and social justice. In their private practice, they work primarily with survivors of sexual violence and folks identifying as trans, non-binary, or queer. In their spare time, you can find them reading science fiction, drinking tea, and snuggling their cats.

ACCESSIBILITY


The event will take place on the grass in Cridge Park. There are paved pathways that provide access to the park and there are accessible parking spots behind the Church of our Lord, which can be accessed from Humboldt just west of Blanshard.
